The Czech public will have a unique opportunity to learn about the work of this world-renowned artist who, thanks to his sensitivity to color and chiaroscuro, influenced both his contemporaries and future generations of painters alike. His work belongs among the most precious treasures of the world’s art heritage.
The Prague exhibition will be highly educational and multimedia. Each painting will be accompanied by a detailed commentary that will set it in the context of Titian’s artwork as well as art history in general. The research work involved university students from the Prague Academy of Fine Arts under the expert guidance of their teachers and guarantors of the exhibition. The main guarantor of the Prague exhibition is Professor emeritus Lionello Puppi, director of Centro Studi Tiziano in Pieve di Cadore, Italy, who is one of the world’s greatest experts on Titian.
The exhibition is intended to attract a wide audience, from laic art lovers, to art students, to profound experts in art.
The exhibition is organized by Prague Castle Administration and Art for public, in cooperation with Italian organization Artelling, and it has a support of the Italian Institute in Prague, the Italian Embassy, headed by Ambassador Pasquale D‘Avino, and the Italian Ministry of Culture, and will introduce both, Italian culture and history, to the Czech public.
Organizers
Art for Public brings art to the people and promotes open cooperation with other galleries in the field of contemporary art. In this way, and through combined efforts, we organize exhibitions of high-quality art by both young and renowned artists. Our motto is “Together we are more.”
Art for Public forms an international platform for the exchange of experience, contacts, art and artists. We want to show high-quality art not only in galleries, but also in the streets and public spaces. The way we see it, art is for everyone, and it should not be limited to just a small portion of the population. Therefore, we bring art to the public and integrate it into everyday life.
Our approach lies in overcoming the competition between galleries in order to draw on the full potential of these organizations and institutions, and to apply it to developing new exhibition activities and expanding the range of cultural options open to the public.
